Since his youth Michal has inclined to sport, mostly to martial arts. In his 4 years he started to learn skiing. At primary school he put his mind to karate for 1,5 year. It was his first contact with martial arts and he liked it. But his potential he has found in Korean martial art of self-defense Taekwon-do ITF when he was 10 years old.

After 2 years, in 1995, he won his first worth medal, 2nd place in patterns of blue belts category under 15 years on Czech Republic Championship. Other successes follows. On November, 1997, in his 14, he has got black belt by Mr. Hwang Ho Yong, VIII Dan. In 1999 he became the member of Czech junior team and took part in European Championship, without medal yet. In the year 2000 he won silver medal in I Dan patterns and few months later he is in quarterfinals in sparring under 70 kg as well as in patterns of I Dan on World Junior Championship.

Since 2002 he has been the member of Czech senior national team and has been climbing on winning steps regularly. In 2004 he has got next degree of black belt, II Dan. His highest success was reached on July 11th, 2005, when he became the World Champion in sparring under 80 kg. The World Championship takes place every 2 years. On European Championship 2006, one year later, he has won gold medal in sparring under 85 kg and silver medal in patterns of II Dan which has made him overall the most successful senior of European Championship 2006.

In the year 2007 he is going to vindicate both titles - World Champion and European Champion titles, and gain overall the most successful senior of European Championship 2007.
